The Lady Marines Softball team played their most inspired softball of the season last night, but came up short in the end. After taking an early 1-0 lead, the Marines surrendered 10 runs in the bottom half of the first inning, and faced an uphill battle. Slowly but surely, the Marines chipped away at the large Bruin lead. During the comeback, the Lady Marines gained offense from a myriad of sources. Sky Jackson had a tricky bunt single; Whitney Royal added a monster double that almost found its way out of the park; Hannah Wade rocketed a laser line drive to left center; sophomore Tori Creager added a bases clearing double; Maddi Farnsworth belted her way on base along with freshman Kaitlyn Weesner and Taigan Caudill. In the end, the score did not reflect the competitive nature of this battle, but one thing is for sure, this Lady Marine softball team has a great deal to be proud of, and will most certainly make waves in the future.
